REXVOR Tablets - Each Film coated tablet contains Voriconazole 200mg. Unit Carton of 4’s ,box of 5x4’s.
REXVOR-50 Tablets – Each Film coated tablet contains Voriconazole 50mg.Unit Carton of 10’s , box of 10x10’s.
Special Features
REXVOR is broad spectrum 2nd generation triazole antifungal.
It has high oral bioavailability of 96% and low plasma protein binding of 55%.
Varying degree of hepatic and renal insufficiency do not affect protein binding of Voriconazole.
FDA approved for Invasive aspergillosis.
Voriconazole has lowest mic against Trichophyton mentagrophytes and rubrum.
Dosage
Serious invasive candida infections & Oesophageal Candidiasis: Patients 40 kgs or above Loading dose of 400mg twice daily in first 24 hours, maintenance dose 200mg twice daily after 24 hours
Patients below 40 kgs. Loading dose of 200mg twice daily in first 24 hours, 200 mg twice daily, maintenance dose of 100mg twice daily.
Invasive aspergillosis/scedosporium & Fusarium : Patients 40kgs.or above Loading dose of 400mg twice daily in first 24 hours, maintenance dose 200mg twice daily after 24 hours.
Patients below 40 kgs. Loading dose of 200mg twice daily in first 24 hours, 200 mg twice daily, maintenance dose of 100mg twice daily.
The dose in children of age 2years and above is usually 4 mg per kg body weight per day to maximum 200 mg per day but is reserved for exceptional circumstances.
Application
Elevation in liver function tests in 13% patients associated with higher serum concentrations or dosages.
Isolated cases of hepatitis,cholestasis and fulminant hepatic failure.
Monitoring of liver function is essential when used in patients with severe hepatic impairment. Cases of torsades de pointes reported.
30% transient visual disturbances,but no anatomical correlates of the disturbances.
